Founder of the Body Wisdom Institute | Creator of the Body Wisdom Theory

I’ve spent over 30 years immersed in a single question: What happens when we stop forcing the body—and start listening instead?

That question led me on a personal journey from chronic pain and confusion to clarity, strength, and a renewed relationship with my own body. Along the way, I discovered that most discomfort isn’t due to a flaw in the body—but in the way we’ve learned to use it.

Through the Body Wisdom Theory, we’ve developed a practical, grounded approach that helps people restore integrity in the body’s three main systems:
✔ The musculoskeletal structure (alignment and support)
✔ The nervous system (response and regulation)
✔ The sensory system (awareness and perception)

This work goes far beyond temporary relief. It’s about retraining the nervous system, re-educating movement through applied physics, and awakening the body’s capacity for ease, strength, and resilience—one breath, one floor practice at a time.

I didn’t invent the body’s intelligence. But I’ve spent decades learning how to reveal it—and how to teach others to do the same. My role is to guide, to listen, and to help people remember that healing isn’t something we force. It’s something we allow.

Chuck Kissee – Founder

Chuck’s path to co-creating Body Wisdom Theory has been anything but ordinary. He grew up in rural Southern California, served four years in the U.S. Air Force , and studied Aerospace Engineering at USC. His early career took him deep into systems engineering, where precision and structure were non-negotiable. From there, he became a master builder and remodeler in Silicon Valley and later, a registered investment advisor, Chuck guided high-net-worth families across securities, insurance, and real estate.

Yet amid all this success, he began noticing something troubling—both in himself and his clients. On paper, they “looked” successful, but in reality, stress, strained relationships, health issues and unhealthy lifestyles told a different story. The resume didn’t match the life. Chuck grew deeply curious: Why didn’t achievement translate into fulfillment?

In his own words, “You go first.” So he did. He stopped doing, dropped his assumptions, and began questioning everything—beliefs, conditioning, and the secret thoughts that quietly shape one’s way of being. In that space of inquiry, he discovered Body Wisdom and how to dissolve fear and access a satisfaction not dependent on achievement.

As a client of Body Wisdom over 11 years ago, Chuck experienced firsthand how the body itself holds the key. By realigning the musculoskeletal, nervous, and sensory systems, he found a clarity and freedom that mental effort alone could never reach. His transformation led him from client to co-founder of the Body Wisdom Institute, where he now integrates engineering precision, building mastery, and advisory insight into a framework for human flourishing.

Today, Chuck is known for his natural ability to hear a client’s vision, see the survival patterns stored in their body and holding them back, and hold a greater possibility until they can live into it themselves. People have called him consigliere, Swiss Army knife, and “head coach.” What they feel in his presence is groundedness, calm, and safety—a space where life, relationships, and business can come into coherence with who they truly are.

That is the heart of Body Wisdom Theory: restoring the body’s balance so life can finally match the vision.
